IconicSX Cattery
IconicSX specialises in ethically breeding Canadian Sphynx cats with a focus on Dominant Blue-Eyed - Celestial (DBE-CEL) and Odd-Eyed lines. We are proud to have been the first cattery in the world to introduce genetically verified DBE-CEL (Celestial) Sphynx kittens, confirmed through independent genetic testing by Petgeno laboratory in China.
Every breeding cat is tested for over 70 known genetic disorders, and we’re proud to say that all results are clear. No single copy of any disease-causing gene is present in our lines. We also perform annual HCM scans with certified cardiologists, BAER hearing tests for all cats and kittens, and screening for FIV, FeLV, Toxoplasmosis, and other infectious diseases.
Transparency is part of our ethics
Every IconicSX DBE kitten leaves with complete documentation: verified DNA results, BAER certificate, and full health records.
We hold both GCCF Approved Breeder Accreditation status and are the only UK Sphynx Cattery that holds TICA Outstanding Cattery Certification, recognition that confirms our standards, not defines them.
Excellence
Show Achievements
IconicSX Selina Kyle, a DBE Celestial Sphynx, and her father Vincent both hold GCCF Champion titles.
Selina made history as the first DBE Sphynx ever to achieve a GCCF Championship and earned 4 Best of Breed awards.
She and her father have also achieved Multiple Top 1–3 placements across Miscellaneous classes.
These achievements represent important milestones for our breeding programme. Today, our focus is on health, welfare, and contributing to the responsible advancement of the breed.
Setting the
standards
In 2025, IconicSX DBE cats became a reference point for the GCCF when the registry introduced new GEMS codes for Dominant Blue-Eyed cats — the first formal recognition of DBE by any major pedigree registry worldwide.
IconicSX cats, along with their full health documentation, were chosen as defining examples within that framework.
Welfare & Standards
We are a small, home-based programme where welfare always comes first. Our cats live as part of the family with free access to all living spaces.
We do not use cages, crates, or enclosures. Our cats are never confined, including queens with kittens, who are given dedicated, warm rooms with full freedom of movement.
Although our litters are rare and we are not required to hold a council breeding licence, we voluntarily undergo annual veterinary inspections to ensure our standards meet and exceed those expected of licensed establishments.

Scientific Contribution
IconicSX DBE-Celestial cats were selected as verified reference sample donors for Certagen GmbH / VHL Genetics validation work. Genotype and phenotype data were contributed to ongoing DBE-CEL test development.
“Thank you very much for the samples, we so greatly appreciate your support in test development (…) Regarding the test development, the samples are invaluable. It is a surprisingly difficult mutation to test for multiple molecular biology-related reasons (sequence complexity, etc.) (…) Your samples will allow us to try different approaches and hopefully develop a robust test.”
