A Passion Born from Experience

 

For years, I hesitated to embark on the path of breeding. Some aspects of the breeding world did not align with my personal values, particularly when it came to prioritising health and ethics. However, as a Sphynx cat owner, I struggled to find ethically bred, healthy cats—especially those free from genetic concerns like the ALMS1 gene linked to HCM.

 

This challenge became my inspiration to create something different: a cattery built on high health standards, respect for the breed, and a commitment to preserving rare and unique genetic traits. My journey is rooted in a profound love for animals and a desire to offer what I couldn’t easily find—a responsible, ethical approach to breeding.

 

Our Passion for Genetics and Rare Traits

 

At IconicSX, we are deeply passionate about feline genetics and the preservation of rare traits, particularly the Dominant Blue Eye (DBE) gene. Our fascination with genetics has led us to actively participate in groundbreaking studies, such as the one led by Prof. Marie Abitbol, which defined and distinguished the DBE Celestial gene.

 

We also collaborate with leading universities and research institutions, contributing to advancements in feline genetics and health. These opportunities allow us to further our knowledge, contribute to scientific understanding, and ensure that our practices align with the latest research and best standards.

 

Education: A Lifelong Commitment

 

I believe that education never ends, which is why I participate in numerous courses and training programs to continually improve my skills and knowledge. I have worked with some of the best breeders in Russia specialising in the DBE gene, as well as learning from world-renowned institutions like PawPeds and Campus Felinarium. These resources ensure that I stay informed, ethical, and at the forefront of responsible breeding practices.

At IconicSX, we believe in quality over quantity. We breed rarely and selectively, ensuring that each litter receives the utmost care and attention. Our focus is on raising healthy, well-socialized kittens with unique traits, placing them in homes that share our values.

 

Every adoption is guided by mutual trust and ongoing support. We are selective in choosing families for our kittens, ensuring they are placed with those who appreciate the commitment and responsibility of owning such a remarkable breed.

My commitment to the feline and Sphynx cat community stems from a lifelong passion for animals and genetics. As the proud mum of Max, an incredible autistic boy and a true cat person, I am inspired daily by his unique bond with cats. This has driven my dedication to ethical breeding, preserving rare traits, and contributing to advancements in feline health through collaborations with researchers.

 

Professionally, I bring experience in HR management, administration, and marketing, backed by a Master’s degree from the University of Gdańsk in Poland, and I continue to actively work in this field. Beyond my career, I am passionate about website creation, SEO, and delving into scientific research, blending these interests to make meaningful contributions to the Sphynx cat community and the preservation of rare feline traits.
